Acrylic paintings

I like the multi layer aspect of working in acrylic.

The great thing about acrylic paint is that one can use it like watercolour to lay fine washes on the surface of the painting, but as it dries, one can build up a thicker impasto of colour and get a more intense colour range, and by adding different agents build up a variety of textures.

It's like using oil paint without waiting for background colours to dry. One can paint wet on wet and mix colours on the canvas, or overlay thin washes on a dry prepared ground.
